Domain hosting

Confused about site hosting and varied types and prices' No need to worry any longer, right here you will find all the information that you need.

Free: is without fees, although sometimes advertisement-supported, it is usually limited compared to paid hosting.

Shared: the web site is located on the same server as other websites, ranging from a small number to thousands. Customarily, all domains will share common server resources, such as RAM and the CPU. A shared web site may be hosted by a reseller account.

Reseller: allows hosting clients to become web hosts themselves. A reseller can function, for individual domains, utilising any combination of the kinds of hosting listed here. This could depend on who they are affiliated with as a provider. Resellers' accounts may vary tremendously in size and facilities and they could use virtual dedicated servers, dedicated servers or colocated servers.

Virtual Dedicated Server: compartmentalizing a server into virtual servers, where each user feels that they are actually using their own dedicated server. But, they are really sharing a server with countless other users. The customers will have root access to their own virtual space. This is also called a virtual private server or VPS domain hosting.

Dedicated hosting service: the hosting client rents her or his own Web server and gets complete control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); despite that, the user typically does not own the server. Another form of Dedicated is Self-Managed or Unmanaged. This is very often the cheapest for Dedicated plans. The hosting customer has absolute administrative access to the equipment, which means the client is responsible for the security and maintenance of his or her own dedicated server equipment.

Managed service: the customer leases their own web server but is disallowed full control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); on the other hand, they are able to manage their data via FTP or other remote management tools. The hosting client is prohibited from having full control so that the provider can guarantee quality of service by not enabling the client to make modifications to the server box or possibly create configuration problems. The hosting customer conventionally does not own the box, instead the server equipment is leased to the domain hosting user.

Colocation service: very similar to the dedicated service except the hosting customer owns the colocated server box; the hosting company provides the physical space that the equipment uses and takes care of the box. This is the most powerful and expensive type of web hosting service. Usually, the colocation organization may provide little or no support directly for their client's machine, providing only the electrical, Internet access and storage facilities for the server equipment. In most cases for colocation, the user would have their own administrator who will visit the data center on site to do any hardware upgrades or maintenance.

Clustered: having many servers hosting the same content for more efficient resource utilization.

Grid: this kind of distributed hosting is when a server cluster acts like a grid and is composed of more than one nodes domain hosting.
