Ecommerce web design

Confused about site hosting and the many different types and costs' Worry no more, here you will find all the information you need.

Free: is unpaid for, although quite often advertisement-supported, it is most of the time limited compared to bought hosting.

Shared: the web site is located on the same server as other websites, ranging from a few to hundreds or thousands. Mainly, all domains may share a pool of common server resources, such as RAM and the CPU. A shared web site will be hosted by a reseller.

Reseller: allows hosting clients to become web hosts in their own right. A reseller can operate, for individual domains, utilising a combination of the kinds of hosting listed here. This could depend on who they are affiliated with as a provider. Resellers' accounts may change tremendously in size and facilities and they could utilise virtual dedicated servers, dedicated servers or colocated servers.

Virtual Dedicated Server: dividing a server into virtual servers, where it appears that they are using their own dedicated server. Despite that, they are really sharing a server with many other individuals. The hosting customers will have root access to their own virtual space. This is also known as a virtual private server or VPS ecommerce web design.

Dedicated hosting service: the client rents her or his own Web server and gains full control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); anyhow, the hosting client conventionally does not own the server. Another type of Dedicated is Self-Managed or Unmanaged. This is very often the cheapest for Dedicated plans. The user has absolute administrative control over the box, which means the customer has total responsibility for the security and maintenance of their own dedicated server equipment.

Managed service: the hosting customer gets his or her own web server but is prohibited from having complete control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); on the other hand, they are able to manage their data via FTP or other remote management tools. The user is disallowed absolute control so that the equipment provider can guarantee quality of service by not enabling the client to modify the server box or potentially create configuration problems. The hosting client typically does not own the equipment, rather the box is rented to the ecommerce web design customer.

Colocation service: similar to the dedicated service except the customer owns the colocated server box; the hosting organisation rents the actual space that the server equipment uses and takes care of the equipment. This is the most powerful and expensive kind of hosting service. Chiefly, the colocation company will provide little or no support directly for their hosting client's machine, providing only the electrical, Internet access and storage facilities for the server box. In most cases for colocation, the user would have their own administrator who will visit the data center on site in order to do any hardware upgrades or maintenance.

Clustered: having more than one servers hosting the same domain for more efficient resource utilization.

Grid: this form of distributed hosting is when a server cluster acts like a grid and is made up of of many nodes ecommerce web design.
