Reseller hosting

Are you baffled about website hosting and the many different types and fees' Worry no more, right here you will find all the facts you will need.

Without fees: is free, although quite often advertisement-supported, it is most of the time limited compared to leased hosting.

Shared: the site is actually located on the same server as other web sites, from a few to hundreds or possibly even thousands. Usually, all domains could share common server resources, such as RAM and the CPU. A shared site will be hosted with someone who has a reseller account.

Reseller: allows customers to become web hosts using their own trade name. A reseller can operate, for individual domains, using any combination of the kinds of hosting listed here. This may depend on who their main provider is. Resellers' accounts could change greatly in size and facilities and they will lease virtual dedicated servers, dedicated servers or colocated servers.

Virtual Dedicated Server: compartmentalising a server into virtual servers, where each user feels that they are actually utilizing their own dedicated server. Nevertheless, they are really sharing a server with many other individuals. The clients may have root access to their own virtual space. This is also called a virtual private server or VPS reseller hosting.

Dedicated hosting service: the user leases their own Web server and has absolute control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); on the other hand, the hosting client chiefly does not own the server. Another kind of Dedicated is Self-Managed or Unmanaged. This is sometimes the lowest cost for Dedicated plans. The hosting customer has complete administrative access to the server equipment, which means the customer has total responsibility for the security and maintenance of her or his own dedicated box.

Managed service: the customer rents his or her own web server but is not allowed full control over it (root access for Linux/administrator access for Windows); all the same, they are able to manage their data via FTP or other remote management tools. The client is prohibited from having complete control so that the provider can guarantee quality of service by not enabling the user to make modifications to the equipment or potentially create configuration problems. The hosting customer in most cases does not own the server box, rather the server equipment is rented to the reseller hosting hosting client.

Colocation service: virtually the same as the dedicated service but the hosting client owns the colocated equipment; the hosting organization rents the actual space that the server box uses and looks after the box. This is the most powerful and expensive form of website hosting service. Typically, the colocation company may provide very small or no support directly for their customer's machine, providing only the electrical, Internet access and storage facilities for the server box. In most cases for colocation, the user would have his or her own administrator who will visit the data center on site so that they can do any hardware upgrades or changes.

Clustered: having several servers hosting the same website for better resource utilization.

Grid: this type of distributed hosting is when a server cluster acts like a grid and is composed of many nodes reseller hosting.

We sincerely hope that this reseller hosting article has been of some help.
